When we approach equity, inclusion and social justice by understanding institutional and community experiences, we can see the gaps and possibilities that require our short and long term attention, imagination, and action.

 

Coming at diversity and inclusion work in this way allows for the stimulation of intentional and mindful pathways and conditions for conscious relationships, equitable systems, deep and honest dialogue and collective and accountable action. The more pathways we create, the more possible it is for us to actualize cultures and systems of ethical reciprocity. Meaningful change is informed by robust research, community building practices and actionable policies.

That is why understanding experiences, relationships and systems and hearing all points of view is central. Through these sessions we create actionable processes to make diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) a norm in your organization, where accountability and sustainable change is possible. This approach is tailored to your unique needs, community and institution. As experts in research and evaluation and in DEI we know that best practice is also informed by the most current secondary research, which we also draw on in designing our approach together.  

 

Through qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research we evaluate and assess the current culture, structures, relationships, dynamics, and resources in your working community. This evidence-based approach to diversity, equity and inclusion allows you to move forward with informed analysis about where you are and how to define, meet, re-design and implement your goals in the short and long term.

CLIMATE SCANS

Climate scans are a great way to get a broad understanding about the social and institutional atmosphere in your working community with regards to specific diversity and inclusion issues and needs. For instance, you may want to assess if your employees, students and clients feel that your working ecosystem is in fact gender inclusive and equitable. This is one way to have an institutional snapshot to assess whether your policies and practices are aligning.

POLICY EVALUATION, DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION
& STRATEGIC PLANNING

We provide consultation in how to develop the best research informed diversity, inclusion and equity policy that can move your institution forward in a way that benefits everyone.

 

We will also evaluate and assess your current diversity, equity and inclusion policies and provide expert analysis on the strengths, weaknesses and gaps. Advising you on whether your policies have clear and robust definitions of diversity, inclusion and equity and includes clear accountability and responsibility measures is something we attend to carefully. We will look at how your policies can most effectively and ethically inform your strategic plans and their implementation. 

 

Building from your policy and the research we conduct with you we also create actionable strategic plans, with clear guidelines for implementation. Evaluating your programs, activities and plans in the short and long term is also something we recommend to ensure you are becoming diverse, inclusive and equitable in practice over time.
